Meet Evelyn

Evelyn Palfrey is a native Texan and proud graduate of Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas School of Law. A longtime Austin resident, she is an attorney, gardener, and enthusiastic motorhomer who finds inspiration for her writing in life’s journeys—both on the road and at home.

Evelyn has been crafting fiction since 1995, writing stories that celebrate love, growth, and possibility at every stage of life. Known for creating “romantic suspense for the marvelously mature,” she centers middle-aged heroes and heroines in her work because, as she says, “Romance is just as beautiful with a little grey at the temples.”

Her bestselling novel The Price of Passion reached #1 on Essence and helped cement her reputation as a beloved voice in contemporary romance. She is also the author of Everything in Its Place and Three Perfect Men, and has contributed to two Chicken Soup anthologies. Evelyn’s work has earned her a nomination for the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award.

Active in the writing community, she has been involved with the Writers’ League of Texas and the Austin chapter of Romance Writers of America.

Can this innocent-looking little girl actually write such sensual and wicked tales? (Evelyn and her mother Lois)

Evelyn believes deeply in embracing every season of life. As she often reminds readers:

“There is challenge—and joy—at every stage of life. Enjoy the one you’re in now. It will last too long going through it—and not long enough looking back on it. Look forward to the next one. It will bring its own challenges—and its own joy.”
